ONE OF FOUR EXAMPLES
We shoved each other’s faces
back and forth, gentle.
Like it’s love, if love were
metrical in any way. Not just
a moment, more ghastly than serene. Still
that summer was amazing.
I did what I did and it was what I wanted.
Imagination’s limited
by one’s encounters
but reality goes on and on.
It wasn’t always like this.
Lost components turn
a greenscreen green. I keep track
of everything because the world is
nonsense. Water squints
transformed just as it plunges.
Congrats on being a person
I remember. The opposite
of pills, an oily hold, uncovered.
I never should have touched it
but I didn’t care because the words felt good.
